Idols SA’s Seventh Stint

Seven seasons in, Idols SA still boasts something fresh and funky, and this year it’s Unathi Msengana on the judging panel.

With Mara Louw moving out, the young radio personality and singer has moved in to join veterans Gareth Cliff and Randall Abrahams in the judging hot seat.

On the digital front, Don’t Look Down has also upped the ante year on year, and this season will be no different. DLD will once again implement a multi-platform converged content strategy to engage the audience across social networking platforms, Twitter and Facebook.

Having recently wrapped a successful Season VI, this will be the ninth time Don’t Look Down has handled the format (which includes seasons in east and west Africa and an Afrikaans version on kykNET).

The cross-country, stadium-based auditions kick-off in Cape Town on 12 February, followed by a never-been-done-before stint in Polokwane (26 February), then on to Durban (5 March) and ultimately Johannesburg, via Soweto (26 March), ending at Montecasino (2 April).
