Digitizing Glo Naija Sings

Don’t Look Down is currently providing key digital aptitude for top M-Net Africa reality show Glo Naija Sings – the third time it is doing so.

Season III of Glo Naija Sings premiered on 21 August on M-Net Africa (with repeats on AfricaMagic) and Don’t Look Down are again providing online  know-how for the series, creating original content for the official website (including show updates and the freshest news on the sizzling Nigerian music scene), and looking after the show’s Facebook and Twitter presences.

Glo Naija Sings is a reality TV talent search seeking to unearth the most exciting up-and-coming singing stars (solo or group) in Africa’s most populous nation. It consists of regional auditions in seven Nigerian hot-spots, followed by a Theatre round in which a Top 10 are selected and then a performance phase, during which the massive Nigerian audience gets to vote for their favourite act.

DLD’s online offering includes shooting, sourcing, editing and uploading exclusive video content for the show, including interviews with the shows presenters (the massively popular singer Darey and the outrageous Denrele) and the panel: resident judge Olisa Adibua, performance coach Tosin Martins and music director Dokta Frabz.

The company has also interviewed all the Semi-Final contestants and is packaging show highlights (including all the performances) for the show’s website.

DLD also strategically updates the Glo Naija Sings’ social networking presences on Facebook and Twitter. The latter feed has almost doubled its followers in the less than two weeks the show has been on air thanks to live in-show updates and the targeting (and retweeting) of key show personnel like Darey (@darey) and Denrele (@DENRELE_EDUN), plus the show’s high profile guest judges and performers.

It’s a West African phenomenon to watch…
