Unlimited and Countrywide

If you’re not in Jo’burg for the biggest party this side of winter this Friday (1 April) – the unprecedented Vodacom Unlimited Festivalyou can still experience some of the magic in Cape Town, Durban and Port Elizabeth, where there’ll be special satellite events taking place.

Vodacom will be setting up a number of super-cool parties in these cities where you can groove to fabulous live DJs and experience a link-up to the amazing action happening at Orlando Stadium.

As part of the Vodacom Unlimited Festival’s innovative approach to partying, there will be a live satellite link-up to the main event at 9pm (on Friday 1 April), during which you can see a massive moment, beamed live from Soweto!

Following this you’ll be able to enjoy both “Fairytale” pop sensations Liquideep and US house music legend Louie Vega doing their thing live on massive screens and huge sound rigs.

And to get you warmed up for this groundbreaking inter-city hook-up, a few of SA’s most renowned DJs will be dropping some serious rhythmic trickery at these events.

Port Elizabeth peeps can get down to the funk-force of Pierre Pressure, a legend in the house music scene following his residencies at top spots like Idol’s, ESP, and Hideout, as well as the Mother raves and the Akwafunk parties. He’ll also be familiar to TV viewers as one of the beat engineers on top shows like Channel O’s Bassment and Vuzu’s Hit Refresh.

Cape Town crowds can lock into the experienced beat science of Peter Abrahams before the link-up. A longtime house music evangelist, Peter A has played at just about every essential venue in Cape Town and beyond, and alongside the likes of Carl Cox, Deep Dish, Armand Van Helden, Louie Vega and Frankie Knuckles; he’s also been a feature on Bush Radio and at Vinny Da Vinci’s Deep Soul Sessions in Cape Town.

Durban dance aficionados will be treated to the exquisite beats of Andy X, a former drive-time DJ on Durban Youth Radio (and a household name in KZN) and a club DJ who’s played with the likes of Mr. V, Alix Alvarez, DJ Christos, Quentin Harris, Osunlade and Franck Roger. Andy X is also a producer of note, having thrilled with his ‘The First Movement’ full-length and with his production chops on tracks for the likes of Shana and Sdunkero.

This trio of fantastic events will come as close as one can get to the magic that’s going to be going down in Orlando stadium, and will have a special funk flavour all of their own.
