Isibaya expands to social media

“Old Grudges. New Enemies” is the slogan for Season 2 Isibaya, and it’s the biggest Show ticket in town! DLD is trying out something new for this popular soap opera, aired every weekday (including a Sunday omnibus) on Mzansi Magic.

Due to the shows immense popularity, DLD, on behalf of DStv Digital Media (DStv DM) has created, and are maintaining a presence on social media, Facebook and Twitter, to offer fans value added content outside of the TV program.

On the Mzansi Magic website, a preview is published each week, encapsulating what the week ahead holds, and a review of all that has happened, including social comments from the audience. In terms of video output, exclusive interviews are shot with the cast on set by a DLD team, and are published each week, along with highlights from the show.

On the social platforms, these videos and articles are shared. Fans can also view original memes, and engage with conversation starters around pivotal parts of the program. This is to get people talking, engaging, and interacting with the platforms. This approach allows fans a podium to invest further in a soap opera they cherish.
