Simultaneous Original Productions Online

The 2014 year kicked off with many Original Productions from M-Net and Mzansi Magic taking to air and starting the Audition process. Survivor SA and Big Brother Mzansi returned to TV screens in January and February respectively, MasterChef SA; Clash of the Choirs SA; and Idols SA all held country wide Auditions, and MasterChef SA has started shooting its new Season.

Survivor SA Champions
After a two-year hiatus, Survivor SA returned to TV screens with a bang. The show format changed slightly with two South African sporting stars, rugby hero, Corne Krige, and soccer legend, Mark Fish heading up two tribes.

DLD’s approach this Season has been to gain insights with presenter, Nico Panagio interviewing him each week, conducting exclusive exit interviews, weekly Episode round-ups, and interviews with guests. A DLD team, also sent to the South China Sea Island during the shooting of the show, filmed all this content.

On social media, DLD created Facebook pages for Team Fish and Team Krige. Our live show coverage over social media platforms has been adapted slightly to create conversation over social media, and looking back at the show once it is over.

Big Brother Mzansi
The last Big Brother South Africa aired over 10 years ago. Rebranded to Big Brother Mzansi, DLD is once again taking the digital realm by storm, on behalf of its client, DSTV DM.

A dedicated team has been set up to cover the on-going antics in the Big Brother House, to provide the audiences with an all-around online experience. Covering the show 24/7, they tackle the message strap at the bottom of the TV screen, publishing engaging content and creating conversation; highlights and exclusive video interviews are uploaded to the site, articles and live blogs cover every event in the House, and all of this content is shared with fans on Facebook and Twitter, cumulatively sitting at over 160,000 fans, a mere 2 months into the show.

MasterChef SA Season 3
Much to every foodie’s delight, MasterChef SA started its nation wide Auditions to turn another amateur cook into a culinary master.

DLD covered social media updates, and queries, disseminated Audition information, created social media conversation with sponsors, and shared interviews with guests, and Judges.

Shooting the new Season has started in Cape Town and this year, our innovative approach is providing all Contestants with mobile devices to take behind-the-scenes images, and videos chronicling their journey along the way, so that when the show airs, fans get an comprehensive view like never before.

Idols Season 10
Approaching a milestone, Idols has continuously evolved to demonstrate its endurance and is now in its 10th Season.

Auditions for talented singers started in February and went across South Africa’s main centres. On behalf of DSTV DM, DLD teams were deployed to each city to film interviews with vocalists and guests. Over social media, consistent updates shared vital Audition information to keep fans in the know.

Building on the success of previous Seasons, content will be created with each Contestant in mind, Facebook pages will be created, managed and maintained for them, and videos will include fun and games.

Clash of the Choirs Season 2
Following the immense success of the first Season, Clash of the Choirs returns to television screens soon.

Nationwide Auditions kicked off in seven locations around the country, including cities like Bloemfontein, Nelspruit, East London, and Polokwane.

Deploying teams to each venue, DLD kept fans kept abreast of all the important Audition information and on-the-ground happenings from the official Twitter and Facebook accounts. Once the show starts, DLD will be going back stage to get the interviews with the presenter, Judges, Choir Masters, choirs and guests.
